Fake Gucci Bag

Have you ever walked down Canal street in NYC and wanted to buy a fake Gucci bag or Prada? When I was younger, I always wanted to look like the Sarah Jessica Parker, but never had the courage to carry a fake bag. It was not because I was too good to wear a knock off, but because I appreciated the hard work that went into making these designer bags. Many stores, such as FOREVER 21, are known for selling clothing that resemble designer pieces. Well Express clothing store has had enough! They are suing Forever 21 for stealing several of their designs. Forever 21 has been sued over 50 times from other designers. You would think that they would have learned their lesson 49 times ago. As a design student myself, creating a concept, pattern, and color story for a garment, is a very tedious and time consuming task. For someone else to do a “rub-off” of your hard work is a pain in the bumpky! Forever 21, please do not turn into a Forever THIEF! Hire designers that can come up with original ideas! What do you think B&B audience: Do you think that it is fair for companies like Forever 21 to steal actual designs from other companies and sell it for a third of the price?

Wow, that is pretty funny. I agree, Forever 21 did an exact company of Express’ track jacket. This takes the cliche, “No idea is original” to the extreme. No matter what endeavor we pursue, we all get guidance or inspiration from a counterpart, however, I must admit, that is a little out there. Keep us updated on the lawsuit Gabby.

So true JJ…it is really hard to find an idea that is TRULY original…but Forever 21 could have at least placed the logo on the opposite side of the jacket or something…
